Kaduna Bombing: Nigerian Military Urges Calm Pending Investigation Outcomes

The Nigerian Military High Command has urged Nigerians to remain calm until investigation committees looking into the bombing of a community in Kaduna State release their findings.

Director of Defence Media Operations, Major General Edward Buba, said this on Thursday while addressing public outcry following a drone attack that left civilian casualties in Tudun Biri community in early December.

In response to the incident, the military had established a six-member committee, while the Federal Government also set up a separate committee to investigate the matter.

In an exclusive chat with African Health Report (AHR),  Buba emphasised the importance of the investigations, saying they will help officers  to learn from mistakes and prevent similar incidents from recurring in future.

He said, “We like the idea of investigation because, first, it will enable us to learn from our mistakes to prevent them from happening in future and it will also allow those investigating to help us understand how the mistake was made when they see the footage that we have concerning that incidence.”

He, however, did not disclose when the reports would be released, but assured that the findings of both committees would be made transparent and accessible to all.
