The Nigeria Police Force on Monday arrested Ekere Ebong, the lawyer caught on camera beating his wife.
According to the Akwa Ibom Police Command, he will soon be charged to court.
This is coming after the Minister of Women Affairs, Mrs Uju Kennedy Ohanenye, condemned his action.
Ebong, who is based in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital, was seen in the recent video beating his wife whose mouth and nose were bloodied.
According to one of their neighbours, the lawyer has been beating his wife for over four years.
