Yuletide: Abuja Travellers Kidnapped in Enugu

More than ten passengers travelling from Abuja to Enugu have been kidnapped along Ette Umuopu Enugu-Ezike Road in the Igbo Eze North Local Government Area of Enugu State.

A video posted by Anyika TV on Thursday showed that the incident happened on Wednesday evening at a short distance from Umuopu community.

The video showed a Peace Mass Transit van with number 583 parked in the middle of the road with its doors open with broken windows and passengers goods scattered on the ground.

A male voice in the video said the attack had just occurred and that only one passenger was able to escape from the kidnappers.

He said, “The engine of the vehicle was still on.and all the abducted passengers and the bus driver had been taken to the bush by the kidnappers.

“Some soldiers had arrived at the scene but had not entered the bush yet to try to rescue the abductees,” he added.
