The Kaduna State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has said it arrested 90 suspects and demolished 13 illicit drug joints in Kaduna in the month of November.
This is according to the NDLEA’s State Commander, Samaila Danmallam, in a statement released on Sunday. Recounting the successful operations conducted by his team, he revealed that within the month, 478.038 kilogrammes of various illicit substances were seized.
He also noted that 85 of the apprehended suspects are males, while the remaining five are females.
Danmallam, stressing the importance of educating the public about the adverse effects of drug abuse and illicit trafficking, stated that drug demand has reduced as a result of the command’s advocacy and sensitisation programmes across the state.
He urged parents to remain vigilant over their wards, underlining the need for collective responsibility in the fight against illicit drug trafficking and consumption.
In addition, the commander appealed to the community for useful and timely information on drug trafficking, while stressing the importance of proactive measures in the ongoing battle against the menace of illicit drugs.
