The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has alerted the public to expect poor visibility in 24 hours due to dust raised by strong winds in the northern states of Katsina, Kano, Nguru, Jigawa, Bauchi, Gombe, Potiskum, and Maiduguri in the coming 24 hours.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, NiMet advised the public to take necessary precautions in light of the suspended dust particles in the atmosphere, while.urging people with asthma and respiratory conditions to exercise caution in the prevailing weather conditions.
It further warned airline operators to obtain updated weather reports from NiMet to facilitate effective planning in their operations, while assuring that it will continue to closely monitor the weather situation and provide timely updates as necessary.
