President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday signed the N2.17 trillion 2023 supplementary budget into law.
The Senate and House of Representatives last Thursday passed the supplementary money bill and subsequently adopted a harmonised version which was forwarded for presidential assent.
Tinubu had requested the National Assembly ti approve the sum of N2,176,791,286,033 as the 2023 supplementary budget to address labour wage adjustments, security, and more.
He also sent the 2024-2026 Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) and Fiscal Strategy Paper to both chambers of the National Assembly.
Included in the supplementary budget is the N500bn palliative package.
Tinubu had explained that the supplementary bill was necessary for additional palliative measures, including wage awards.
