Nigeria, UAE Economy Will Benefit From Tinubu’s Resolution of Diplomatic Row – Speaker Abass

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Tajudeen Abass, has commended President Bola Tinubu on successfully restoring diplomatic ties between the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Nigeria.

Emirates Airlines had in 2022 suspended flights from Nigeria due to Nigeria’s failure to repatriate billions of dollars in trapped funds. The UAE also imposed a visa ban on Nigerians in October 2022 following alleged clashes between suspected Nigerian cult groups.

However, President Tinubu’s intervention led to the lifting of the ban when he met with UAE’s president, Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, on Monday.

Reacting to the development in a press statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Musa Abdullahi Krishi on Wednesday, Hon. Abass described it as a positive game changer for both Nigeria and UAE’s economy.

Adding that it will strengthen bilateral relationships between the 2 countries, the Speaker added that Tinubu’s performance in just 100 days in office depicts leadership and is a pointer to more “people-oriented, socio-political and economic policies” from him.

He noted the resolution will strengthen bilateral relationships between UAE and Nigeria and also improve the economy of both countries.

Speaker Abass assured that the 10th House under his leadership will provide legislative interventions that will reposition Nigeria globally and attract prosperity to the country.
