The Acting Inspector General of Police (IGP), Ag. IGP Kayode Egbetokun has pledged continued collaboration with the National Defence College (NDC) to strengthen the relationship between the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) and the NDC.

IGP Egbetokun made this known while receiving a team from the NDC, led by the Commandant, Rear Admiral Olumuyiwa Morankiyo Olotu while on a working visit in Abuja on Wednesday.

The police boss encouraged the college to allocate more slots for police officers to aid increased participation in its programmes. He stated that this move would not only benefit the police force but also strengthen the overall security architecture of the country.

The NDC is one of the top military institutions in Africa, providing strategic-level training to senior military officers from Nigeria and other African countries. The IGP’s call for more police officers to participate in their programmes is a move towards enhancing the capacity of the Nigeria Police Force and promoting inter-agency cooperation.

The Commandant of the NDC, Rear Admiral Olumuyiwa Morankiyo Olotu,
reiterated the college’s commitment to continuous collaboration with the police force. Added that a total of 98 police officers have participated in training programs at the NDC so far.

He further assured the IGP that the college would look into the possibility of increasing the slots available for police officers.
