The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has given the President Bola Tinubu-led Federal Government a seven day ultimatum to revise all perceived anti-poor policies including the recent hike in the pump price of petrol or face an indefinite nationwide strike from August 2.
Following a meeting of the NLC’s Central Working Committee (CWC) on Tuesday night in Abuja, the labour union directed all its affiliates and state councils to immediately start organising workers and other Nigerians, including supporters from civil society, for a protracted strike and large-scale demonstrations if the government does not comply with its demands.
