NCDC Stresses Mandatory Testing Before Treatment To Enhance Healthcare

The National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has emphasised the importance of conducting tests before treating patients in order to enhance healthcare delivery and prevent resistance to antibiotics.

In a publication made available on the centre’s website on Tuesday, it strongly recommended that medical practitioners should prioritise testing as a fundamental step before commencing treatment.

It stated: “Remember that many infections present with similar signs and symptoms. Always maintain a high index of suspicion.

“To prevent antimicrobial resistance, conduct a test before you treat a patient.”
