The Minister of Communication, and Digital Economy, Professor Isa Ibrahim Pantami said he has received death threats after his announcement to link the National Identity Number with the sim cards (NIN – SIM) from those he alleged are against the policy.
Prof. Pantami said disclosed this on his Twitter handle @ProfIsaPantami on Thursday.
He said: “But I said to myself, I can sacrifice my life for Nigeria with all the intimidation and the campaign of calumny sponsored to tarnish my image.
“I stood my ground and said the NIN-SIM linkage policy has come to a stand and there is no going back. Digital Identity is the foundation of development for any responsible country,” Isa said
