The commissioner for Health, Abia state, Dr. Joe Osuji has disclosed the state’s intention to conduct blood group and genotype tests for residence of the state.
In a statement made available to Africa Health Report (AHR), Sunday, he said the ministry has invited suitable professionals and qualified medical laboratories to apply to participate in the event.
He said: “The mass testing programme is in fulfillment of the provisions of the state’s law No.5 of 2018, which specifies that all Abians must be tested for blood group and genotype.” adding that successful professionals and the government approved laboratories will be selected for the mass test.”
He added that the expression of interest forms should be obtained from the ministry on or before May 9.
