President Muhammadu Buhari has urged Muslims all over the country not to improve their bond with the underprivileged and poor members of society.
Mr. Buhari gave this advice on Friday on his official Twitter handle @MBuhari.
He said: “As we celebrate Eid-el-Fitr, May we continue to enjoy Allah’s reward for our sacrifices.
“We should strive to never forget the many important lessons of Ramadan, which include improving our bond with the underprivileged and poor members of society.”
In a separate development, the President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Mr. Yakubu Maikyau, SAN, has urged Muslims, especially lawyers, to embrace love, peace, and forgiveness as they celebrate the 2023 Eid-el-Fitr.
Maikyau, speaking on Friday in a statement made available to Africa Health Report in Abuja, said it becomes imperative to embrace peace, love, and forgiveness, particularly in the midst of the myriad of challenges the country was facing.
“At a time when our nation is grappling with a myriad of challenges, not the least insecurity, that has led to bloodshed in almost all parts of the country, it is my hope that the sacrifices and self-denial shown through the month of Ramadan will usher in seasons of love, and forgiveness and rejuvenate our faith in God Almighty, for the recovery/restoration of our dear country, Nigeria.
“I celebrate with all our Muslim colleagues and indeed the entire Muslim Ummah, on the occasion of the Eid-el-Fitr, after a successful completion of yet another blessed month of Ramadan,” Maikyau said.
