Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has urged healthcare workers to conduct a test before treating a patient.
The body gave the warnings to its official Twitter handle @NCDCgov on Tuesday.
According to NCDC, accurate diagnosis of diseases is essential to treat infections.
“Healthcare workers are urged to giving patients the BEST care. Ensure you conduct a test before you prescribe drugs.
It further urged Nigerians to be aware of antimicrobial resistance, saying it is a global health issue.
