The expanded IRCAD Center will be operational in 2025 and will accommodate 837 hospitalized patients, as well as other patients returning home, all of which can reach 2,000 patients treated per day.
The IRCAD Center will merge with Masaka Hospital and provide better health services, and the Center will also work with CHUK always to give improved specialized services, according to PM Edouard Ngirente.
“Infrastructures like this are a great contribution to our vision, to develop specialties, sub-specialties and train much-needed healthcare professionals in a short time,” he said.
“Similar efforts are being made in other projects for different national referral hospitals such as King Faisal Hospital, Kanombe Hospital and others. »
PM Ngirente thanked China for its support to the health sector in Rwanda.
For Ambassador Wang Xuekun of China in Kigali, the Masaka hospital operates with Chinese doctors who are part of a contingent of 200 doctors that China has deployed in Rwanda.
For Dr. Sabin Nsanzimana, Minister of Health, the IRCAD Center extended to Masaka Hospital, will provide good services by its specialized experts and it will promote medical tourism. African doctors will come to receive training and patients from the region will receive medical care. (END)
