In an effort to provide world-class health services to Nigerians and also reduce medical tourism, Alliance Hospital, based in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, has commissioned 64 slide CT scan and IVF Centre.
Speaking while commissioning the two facilities in Abuja, Wednesday, the Managing Director of the Hospital, Dr. Christopher Atabor, disclosed that the hospital has, in the past three years, successfully conducted 75 kidney transplant surgeries.
He explained that in the past 10 years, healthcare services in the country have experienced tremendous growth and sophistication, especially from the angle of private sector.
“In the past three years, Alliance Hospital has done 75 kidney transplant surgeries with 96% success rate.
“A number of our kidney transplant patients even flew from outside Nigeria. In January 2023, we operated a young lady from Poland who resides in the United Kingdom. She flew in from the United Kingdom to have her transplant surgery, considering the commitment we have to the sector”
Dr. Otabor further disclosed that the 64 slide CT scan and IVF Centre project cost over half billion naira, which, according to him, shows a milestone in the hospital’s quest to reverse the tide of medical tourism.
According to him, the initiative would also strengthen the quality of medical health services to meet the world standards.
“We will continue to deliver impeccable multi-specialty medical services for the benefit of Nigerians and visitors to Nigeria.
“The 64 slice revolution CT Scan represents one of the finest CT scanners ever produced. It will definitely
make life easy for our clinicians as it will solve many of the diagnostic dilemma previously encountered in the process of making diagnosis and treatment of health cases”
