The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has advised the general public to prioritise good hand hygiene as part of efforts to halt the spread of cholera.

The advice was given by the agency on it official tweeter handle on Wednesday, March 1.

The agency also disclosed that cholera is easily transmitted in areas with poor sanitation and hygiene.

While urging the general public to take responsibility for their health, the agency further charged them to practice and ensure physical and environmental hygiene in their homes and community.
