Hundreds of shops have been razed by a fire outbreak at a popular Monday market in Maiduguri, Borno state.
NAN reports that the fire started in the early hours of Sunday.
Some of the shops affected included those housing consumables such as tomatoes, boutiques, poultry products, and second-used clothes among others.
Fire service personnel were still making efforts to curtail its spread as of the time of this report.
