Emefiele Attends National Security Council Meeting

By Juliet Jacob

Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele, on Wednesday, attended the National Security Council meeting at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

The meeting was presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari ahead of the forthcoming general election.

AHR gathered that Emefiele is expected to address the council regarding the naira redesign policy and the protests that have erupted from the implementation of the policy across the country.

The naira swap policy of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has seen angry Nigerians take to the street to condemn the policy of the apex.

The hardship faced by Nigerians has seen some Nigerians destroy bank buildings, and properties, while some protesters have lost their lives to their call for relief in the country.
