A group of healthcare providers, RNZ Global, has emphasised that Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation increases the chances of survival following a cardiac arrest.
The co-founder/Director of RNZ Global, Mrs. PatriciaSulaiman, disclosed this, according to a statement on Sunday, during abroad-based training and awareness organised for residents of Carlton GateEstate, in Lekki on the efficiency of CPR and Automated External Defibrillators.
Sulaiman, said, “The event was designed to raise awareness on the usefulness of CPR and AED among the residents of the estate. The modest gesture was part of the Corporate Social Responsibility of RNZ Global.
“Hopefully, the participants would share the knowledge they have acquired from the training with neighbours and Nigerians. CPR can drastically increase the chance of survival following a cardiac arrest with rapid chest compressions mimicking the heartbeat to encourage blood flow to vital organs.”
On her part, the President of the Estate’s Residents, MrsRonke Banjo, said, “Prof. and Mrs. Wale Sulaiman deployed CPR to save the life of a young man in the estate in his efforts to rescue a neighbour from a fire accident and this informed the free training.”
A beneficiary, Mr. Joe Onuboya, noted that the training” had adequately equipped him on how to use CPR and AED to rescue victims of sudden collapse.”
