Four Nigerians have been remanded in prison custody by the Accra Circuit for allegedly stabbing a man at Teshie-Zongo.

Emmanuel Taboshi, 21, Ovie Emujakporue, 22, Wisdom Odebala, 22, and Ovie Onokpachere, 27, pleaded not guilty to conspiracy to commit crime, to wit causing harm and being on premises for unlawful purpose.

Prosecuting, Chief Inspector Benson Benneh told the court presided over by Mrs Evelyn Asamoah that on January 24, 2023, a misunderstanding ensued between accused and Oskalelu at Teshie-Zongo, a suburb of Accra.

He said the issue was resolved by members of the community.

Prosecution said after the issue was resolved, accused, together with one Massarati, currently at large, went to Brizimo Presley’s house, where Oskalelu resides at Teshie Ningua Estate.

Chief Insp. Benneh said accused attacked Oskalelu and that when Presley tried to rescue Oskalelu, Massarati stabbed Presley several times with a dagger.

He told the court that accused left the scene when the complainant shouted for help.

Chief Insp. Benneh said accused was sent to the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital for treatment and he later lodged a complaint with the police.

The court heard that accused admitted the offence when they were interrogated by the police.

Chief Inps. Benneh said efforts were being made to arrest other alleged accomplices. The case has been adjourned to February 22.
