Nigeria Ranks Third in Africa’s Top Manufacturing Countries

Nigeria has been ranked third among Africa’s top 10 manufacturing countries, according to a report by The African Exponent released on Tuesday.

The report highlights the country’s growing manufacturing sector, driven by industrial conglomerates like Dangote Group and BUA Group.

Nigeria’s manufacturing ambitions are buoyed by a large domestic market and policy reforms, with top sectors including cement, consumer goods, food and beverages, and oil refining.

Leading manufacturers in Nigeria include Dangote Group, BUA Group, Nestlé Nigeria, and Unilever Nigeria. The Dangote Refinery project and BUA Group’s rapid expansion illustrate Nigeria’s manufacturing potential.

According to the report, “The manufacturing sector in Africa is projected to have a value-added output of $77.66 billion and a total output of $284.70 billion by the end of 2025.”

South Africa tops the list as Africa’s most industrialized nation, with a diversified industrial base and global partnerships.

Other top manufacturing countries in Africa include Egypt, Morocco, Kenya, and Algeria, each with their unique strengths and industrial focus areas.

The report provides insights into the manufacturing landscape in Africa, highlighting the growth potential and opportunities for investors and entrepreneurs.
