Father, Daughter Beheaded Over Land Dispute in Delta

A 70-year-old man, Mr. Aghanti, and his 50-year-old daughter, Mrs. Atagoshi, were brutally murdered in a bush in the Amai community, Ukwuani Local Government Area, Delta State, over a suspected land dispute.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Bright Edafe on Sunday, the victims were called by the suspect to discuss the land issue but were instead taken to the bush and beheaded.

“He now took them to Amai community bush, killed them and cut off their heads,” Edafe said.

The suspect, identified as Emeke, was later caught by vigilantes with the two human heads and was subsequently mobbed and burnt to death.

Edafe confirmed that the human heads were those of the father and daughter.

“When the people checked, they discovered that the human heads were those of the father and the daughter. They originally saw the body of the father and the daughter without a head,” he said.

The police are currently investigating the incident, and Edafe stated that the suspect was initially on the run, but was eventually caught and meted out jungle justice by the mob.

The incident has sent shockwaves through the community, and the police have urged anyone with information to come forward.
