In a statement issued on Friday, December 6, 2024, AEDC revealed that the upcoming exercise will target essential enhancements at the Gwagwalada 330kV Transmission Station. The maintenance work will take place on two different weekends, involving transformers TR1 and TR2, in order to reduce disruption.
The announcement specified that maintenance for TR1 will start at 9 am on Saturday, December 7, 2024, and is anticipated to finish by 6 pm on Sunday, December 8, 2024. Likewise, TR2 maintenance will kick off at 9 am on Saturday, December 14, 2024, and is expected to wrap up by 6 pm on Sunday, December 15, 2024.
The utility company highlighted the importance of the exercise for better service provision, recognizing the inconvenience it may cause to customers. “We truly apologize for any disruptions this may lead to and assure our customers that this is a vital measure to improve our services,” the statement indicated.
Residents are encouraged to prepare in advance as AEDC enhances the infrastructure for power supply.
