Troops Recover Weapons, Rescue Hostages in North-West

In a series of successful operations in the North-West, Nigerian troops have successfully repelled terrorist attacks, recovering a significant cache of weapons and rescuing hostages.

According to a statement released by the Nigerian Army, troops deployed in Zamfara and Katsina states engaged in fierce gunfights with terrorists, forcing them to flee.

In one such encounter, troops in Zamfara state intercepted a terrorist roadblock along the Jambako-Faru road, leading to a shootout that resulted in the recovery of an AK-47 rifle and ammunition.

In another incident, troops in Katsina state rescued three women who had been abducted by terrorists in Damari village.

The troops pursued the attackers, successfully rescuing the victims and reuniting them with their families.

The Chief of Army Staff commended the troops for their bravery and dedication, emphasizing the importance of maintaining momentum in the ongoing operations.

He also thanked members of the public for their support in providing vital information that has contributed to the successes achieved.

The successful operations are a significant blow to terrorist activities in the North-West region of Nigeria, where security challenges have persisted.
