Fear Grips Enugu Community as Hoodlums Abduct Witness in Court Premises

There is panic in Ezioha Mmaku village in Awgu Local Government Area of Enugu state, following the gestapo like abduction of a middle- aged man, Stanley Osondu, by agents sponsored by some criminal elements from Obeagu community, at the premises of Enugu North Courts on Friday June 7, 2024, after a court session, in a case involving the two communities, in which he is a witness.

The whereabouts of Osondu, since his abduction by the fierce looking agents, in a white bus and another unmarked salon vehicle, is still unknown 24 hours after.

This unexplained whereabouts has caused palpable fear in the community that his safety may be in jeopardy especially after searches at the State Criminal Investigations Department, SCID, did not resolve the question on his whereabouts.

According to Chief Anselm Okolo, Chairman General of Ezioha Mmaku, “we are seriously worried about his safety. We know those that abducted him.

They were led by the President General of Obeagu  Callistus Orjiobu who identified Osondu to the unknown operatives to took him away, right within the premises of a hallowed court” “we have searched all official detention centres of the police in the state and all of them reported not holding him, how are we sure that these very violent criminals from Obeagu who have sworn to remove every living thing in Ezioha Mmaku from the face of the earth to have access to our ancestral lands, have not killed him as we speak” Chief Okolo added.

However additional findings are suggesting that the unknown abductors maybe operatives of the Inspector of Police Squad from Abuja.

Confronted on this possibility, Chief Okolo said, “if the suggestion is correct, then we are comforted knowing that they must have been lied to by Obeagu as that has been their thrust of actions in the last two decades with the police in Enugu state, who have now seen through their lies.

“We trust the capacity of the police to see through their lies in this case and release Osondu in no time.

At least we are assured he is alive and safe,” he added.
