Soldiers/Traders Clash Day 3: Banex Shut, Workers Lament Hardship

Traders at the Banex Plaza in Abuja, FCT, have lamented hardship as the popular cellphone market is shut down for the 3rd day. The traders have decried the continued closure of the market because it is affecting their source of livelihood.

Earlier, Africa Health Report (AHR) published that the FCT police command had deployed police officers to the scene of the clash.

SP Josephine Adeh, who spoke to the press confirmed the presence of policemen at Banex Plaza, explaining that the Commissioner of Police, Benett Igweh, took the action.

“The CP has deployed the Intelligence Response Team to the scene,” Adeh confirmed.

A tiktok video released on Monday confirmed that Banex is still shut and no trade is ongoing currently amidst economic hardship.
