The Department of State Services (DSS) has issued a reminder to the public to prioritize security and report any suspicious activities during the Eid celebrations.
In a press release, Peter Afunanya, Director of PR & Strategic Communications at the DSS, emphasized the agency’s commitment to collaborating with other security agencies and stakeholders to ensure a peaceful celebration.
Afunanya stated, “The DSS admonishes citizens to carry forward the spirit of charity, empathy, and unity beyond the festivities and abstain from any acts that are capable of undermining these principles.” He also urged everyone to be security conscious and report any suspicious activities to security and law enforcement organizations.
The DSS congratulated the Muslim faithful on the peaceful completion of Ramadan and highlighted the core values of the festival, including love, mercy, and compassion. The agency emphasized that these values align with the principles of peace, harmony, and generosity fundamental to Nigeria’s collective good.
