The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has denied arresting or poisoning late Nigerian singer, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.
This is coming after the internet went agog yesterday of an old video of Mohbad saying he was forcefully given a white liquid by officers of the NDLEA while in their custody last year; a substance he said was destroying his health.
In an exclusive interview with Africa Health Report Sunday, the Director of Media, NDLEA, Femi Babafemi said the late musician was neither arrested nor given a white liquid to drink, stressing that the reports on the internet were fake.
He said: “Mohbad was never in our custody and so we couldn’t have given him anything. Disregard fake news please.”
Mohbad died on Tuesday in a mysterious circumstance. The Nigeria Police Force yesterday said it was going to fully investigate the circumstances surrounding his death.
Before his death, Mohbad had at various times raised the alarm over bullying, beating and threat to life from his former record label boss, Azeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, and members of his crew, including Samuel Elegushi, better known as Sam Larry.
