Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke has reiterated the commitment of his administration to quality health care delivery in the state.

The Governor who spoke in Iwo at the flag off of Imole free medical and surgical outreach organized by the UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital, Osogbo to mark his 100 days in office, said he’s determined to ensure healthy living for all residents of the state.

Adeleke who expressed his readiness to develop the state and make it better than he met it, assured that his administration would develop all the health care centres in the state with a view to ensuring healthy living.

He said the current administration in the state will focus on the welfare of the masses, especially health care delivery, road rehabilitation and construction and infrastructural development.

He lamented the failing health condition of some aged people in the state, saying that the free medical and health services will be a routine exercise for the sake of the sick people.

The Governor disclosed that no fewer than 18,000 people spread across the nine federal constituencies of the state will benefit from the first phase of the exercise.

Speaking, the Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Adewale Akanbi described Governor Adeleke as a messiah, having saved many sick people from untimely death through the free medical outreach.

He said some of the patients who were treated had initially lost hope on their health condition as many of them could not afford to cater for their health care due to poverty.

Also, the Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the hospital, Prof. Peter Babatunde Olaitan said the essence of the medical outreach was to cater for the medical need of the downtrodden masses in the state.

He said proper arrangements have been made for adequate care of all the patients as medical personnel were drawn from the teaching hospital and other neighboring teaching hospitals, especially the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital, Ile-Ife.
