Anambra State Has Least Out of School Children with 30,000

  • North-Central’s Kogi tops with 110,000 kids out of school

With 30,000 children, the South-Eastern State of Anambra recorded the least out of school kids between age 6-15 brackets.

The Nigeria Multidimensional Poverty Index (NMPI) reveals this in its 2002 report.

While Abia State recorded 50,000, Imo – also recorded 50,000, Enugu – 70,000 and the South-Western State of Ekiti recorded 40,000.

The 2022 Nigeria Multidimensional Poverty Index (NMPI) also reports that South-South states of Bayelsa recorded 50,000 and Cross-River recorded 90,000 while the Federal Capital Territory in the North-Central recorded 100,000.

Kogi State also in the North-Central recorded the highest of 110,000 out of school children in Nigeria.

Proportionally, South-Eastern states of Anambra, Imo, Abia and Enugu are 2.9%, 5.1%, 5.6% and 7.5% respectively, while the South-Western states of Ekiti and Lagos recorded 5.1% and 6.4% respectively.

The South-South states of Bayelsa, Cross River, Delta and Rivers logged 7.4%, 7.6%, 9.3% and Rivers 7.7% by proportion, respectively.
